The children loved the vacation week. Karli, who takes long naps at home, took power naps about twenty minutes long only a couple times a day. Ryan and Drew had so much fun that the days extended into night with bedtime often at 10:30 or even later. Yesterday morning when it was time to leave Drew begged to stay. When I explained that another family would be moving into the condo that afternoon he suggested that we could share it with them. We especially enjoyed sharing some of the time with Auntie and her boys.
The summer is flying by. Unfortunately lock-down (the time that Drew is confined to home to avoid exposure to illness) is ahead. So, the boys are taking advantage of their summer freedom with frequent adventures. Today the boys visited the zoo with daddy and papa. They saw the bird show, Russian grizzly bears, amur tigers and amur leopards (very special since they are almost extinct). Drew’s favorite part was the farm; Ryan’s favorite was riding the monorail. The boys got tattoos and sat on top of a tractor. (Jay is amazing; he manages to find a way to help Drew get to many places that wouldn’t seem to be accessible to him.)

Yup, Drew actually sat in this tractor. Daddy couldn’t take a picture because he was too busy helping Drew! I can’t even begin to imagine how Jay managed it.

When we got home from our vacation, some friends had the most wonderful surprise waiting for Drew! Unbeknown to us, they had been working on it the entire time we were gone. I am working on sorting through the pictures and will post soon. In the meantime, I want to thank Claire and Anna and the rest of their team. You made a little boy very happy! I also want to wish Claire a very happy birthday!

The following conversation was overheard at the dinner table this evening.
Ryan: Daddy, when we eat does the food touch the thing that dangles in the back of our throat?
Jay: Yes.
Ryan: Then why don’t we throw up when we eat?
