Superbowl Weekend

Drew became a true Vikings/football fan this season. Although it was apparent early in the season that the Vikes weren’t going anywhere, Drew was loyal to the bitter end. When the playoffs started he chose a team for each game; usually his choice, like the Vikings, went down in defeat. Despite all, he remained excited for the Superbowl. The event was made even better when he found out that grandpa and muumuu would drive down especially for the game.

Unfortunately Ry came home with a bad cold last week. Thus, he was “quarantined” in his old room upstairs so as not to expose Drew and Karli. We found ways to get Ry out of the house, but when inside he was either in his room watching movies or hanging out on the landing so that he could talk and see what was going on.

Grandpa and muumuu arrived on Saturday afternoon; it was so great to see them. They even brought some of Drew’s very favorite (safe for him to eat) snacks. Sunday was a typical lock-down weekend day until game time. Drew, Jay and grandpa watched the game. Although I’m not a sports fan, I did join the guys for halftime (I didn’t think Madonna was a bad as everyone else seemed to) and for the final plays of the game. I must admit it was exciting; especially since Drew had decided that he would be a Giants fan for the big game.

Thanks, muumuu and grandpa, for making the trip. Drew had a great time!

The quote of the day is from Drew after being a Giants fan for 10 minutes:
“Who knew that our team would go all this way?!?!?!?!”
